Why are we reinventing the wheel with every database search??

Spectral libraries offer enormous advantages over traditional database search routines. They are also in short supply and tools to use them are limited..

Additional limitations include: Incomplete libraries, decoy implementation, differences in analytical platforms (ie altered fragmentation patterns based on instrument used).
